Lessons for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
For total beginners, we use softboards and Xcel Wetsuits that are designed for our cool water. The softboard has made a revolution in Surf Schools, allowing Surfers far more room to make those inital mistakes. As you progress, you move towards fiberglass surfboards.
As Tamarah Stephens, personally coached by Sepp stated "My progress exceeded
all my expectations"
First and foremost is Surf Safety. You are taught from day one how to control
your board and position in the ocean. For beginner Surfers, First day
lessons are conducted in waist depth water, after practice on the beach.
After each short session feedback from your
rides are given. Techniques such as riding a white water wave can be learnt
in twenty minutes. We expect many of you to be on your feet in the first
day. We work at your speed.
Advanced Surfing:
You may have ridden waves before and wish to work on more advanced
techniques. Don't forget our instructors are competitive surfers who compete
at BCSA, ISA and ASP events worldwide. Whatever your needs we can cover
them.
If you are a intermediate Surfer, with a couple of years of surfing behind
you, We focus on body mechanics and the way a surfboard really works in
waves.
"75% percent of Surfers are riding the wrong type of Surfboard for their ability"
After being with Westside Surf School you wont be one of those 75%.
